摘要

Two genotypes of paprika namely KtPI-19 and Bydagi Kaddi were selected for the character association study to assess the relationship among yield and its components for selection criteria to be followed while developing varieties. Observations were recorded on five traits viz., plant height, number of branches per plant, days taken to first flowering, number of seeds per fruit, number of fruits per plant, fruit length, fruit girth, fruit weight, leaf area and dry fruit yield per plant. The genotypiccorrelation coefficients worked out among the component characters revealed that dry fruit yield per plant established strong positive significant correlation with number of branches per plant, number of fruits per plant. Hence number of branches per plant and number of fruits per plant were reckoned as selection index for improving the fruit yield per plant.
