Sir. Benign metastasizing leiomyomas in the lung, despite being very uncommon, are rare but well-described lesions.1 They typically comprise solid, discrete nodules of tumour within lung parenchyma, are histologically identical to their counterparts in the uterus and are usually positive for oestrogen and progesterone receptors, in keeping with their gynaecological origin. We present two unusual cases of benign metastasizing leiomyoma, which presented as cystic lung disease, and discuss the diagnostic pitfalls associated with neoplasms presenting as pulmonary cystic lung disease.
