VDeh-WG tool damages register

摘要

This project of the VDEh-Subcommittee Tool Steels has been started to register the different cases of tool failures, beginning from the construction to the application of the tools. The intention of this project is the systematical registration of sorts and presence of tool failures. On the other hand, improvements to cure these failures are to be worked out. Failures during production, service and also of unforeseen occurrence have an important influence on the total lifetime of tools. Heat treatment is of main interest, because most failures appear after heat treatment. Especially new heat treatment processes have to be considered. A maximum lifetime requires a series of faultless production steps from the beginning to the end and a proper maintenance of the tools. A tool damage register may help to avoid such failures and to increase the performance of high-quality tools in future.
