摘要

PURPOSE: A tool damage detection device of a machine tool and a tool damage detection method are provided to detect and predict the damage of a tool through being applied a three-dimensional simulator, a tool manager, and a tool DB.;CONSTITUTION: A tool damage detection device of a machine tool comprises a detector(140), a simulator(150), a tool DB(130), a tool manager(160), a critical torque calculator(190), a critical torque data storage unit(180), a comparator(170), and a controller. The detector receives the current signal according to torque from a servo(100) and spindle(110) of a machine tool. A simulator calculates pre-processing conditions. The tool DB saves the information of torque values and working conditions measured during past machining work. The tool manager records or extracts the information of torque values and working conditions in the tool DB. The critical torque calculator calculates the range of estimated torque by using calculated preceding machining conditions. The critical torque data storage unit saves the upper limit and lower limit of predicted torque.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
