Ford Tells Shareholders Plans to Reduce GHG Emissions by 30%

U.S. automaker Ford Motor Co. told activist shareholders last week that they plan to reduce new vehicle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 30% by 2020. "Ford has spent more than three years studying a range of potential actions we would need to take to achieve these reductions in CO2 emissions," said Sue Cischke, Ford's group vice president for sustainability, environment and safety engineering. "We shared our findings with these institutional investors to help them understand our commitments and strategy. We recognize much work remains to be done and we look forward to continued collaboration in addressing the challenges of climate change."
