Large-bore, HP tubing-retrievable safety valves qualified for gas wells

Around the globe, there is a huge focus on developing gas from tight reservoirs and shale, where long horizontals, multistage fracturing and multiple zones are required to make a commercially viable well. While these developments require complex sand face completions to allow multistage fracturing, the upper completions for such wells are relatively simple. Most of the equipment required is readily available off the shelf. On the other hand, some recent offshore gas discoveries in the Arabian Gulf are so prolific, that production from massive single zones is limited only by the sizes of the well completions.
