Modified hyperbranched resins combine fast drying with low VOC in architectural trim paints

New VOC limits specify that in 2010 the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of opaque architectural paints must be reduced from 400g/l to 300g/l. Just reducing the amount of solvent in the formulation would not be an acceptable way to meet the new legislation. The viscosity of the paint would increase gready and prevent easy application.
