Egyptian gas is now flowing into Israel at a rate of around 5 million cubic meters (175 million cubic feet) per day, or 1.8 billion cubic meters per year, an Israeli official tells WGI - still well below the contracted level of nearly 2.5 Bcm/yr.But if flows continue at this rate, and Israel's offshore Mari-B field operated by the Yam Thetis consortium continues to flow sufficient gas until the slated end-2012 start-up of a floating regas facility, Israel should just about "be OK" for gas supply in 2012, WGI is told.
