BP has beat out fellow majors including Royal Dutch Shell,Total and BG for a multibillion-dollar deal to develop Oman's complex Khazzan and Makarem gas fields,an industry source told Energy Intelligence last week (WGI Oct.4,p5).Output from the fields could boost Oman's current 2.4 billion cubic foot per day gas production by more than 40% before the decade is out.
