LNG suppliers looking to Mexico as a future outlet may be disappointed as the country's LNG imports are increasingly displaced by cheaper piped gas from the US. A number of sources say this is why state electricity utility CFE recently cancelled a tender for four LNG cargoes to be delivered into Altamira between September and December, although others say the tender was merely an attempt to gauge pricing levels.
