LNG spot prices in Northeast Asia continued to climb, rising 150 to $13.20 per million Btu on December buying, according to WGI assessments for spot cargoes four to eight weeks out, and gained 100 to $10.40 in Southwest Europe thanks to higher Turkish demand. Forecasts of colder weather pushed up Monday's day-ahead price at the UK's National Balancing Point by 610 to $10.81/MMBtu, as assessed by WGI. November fiitures jumped 960 to $11.07/MMBtu. Recent price changes left netbacks for Mideast sellers more than $2.50 higher on Asian than on Southwest European deliveries, while UK and Belgian netbacks lagged Asia by more than $3. In Japan, utilities Chubu, Kyushu and Tohoku Electric have met their December requirements, traders say. Chubu reportedly bought a December cargo from Russian Gazprom's Sakhalin LNG, while state Korea Gas procured two shipments reloaded from Belgium and Spain.
