LNG traders that put cargoes into floating storage over the summer in anticipation of a big increase in spot prices are being forced to reassess their options. With prewinter buying in the premium Northeast Asian market failing to materialize to the extent many forecast, sellers are having to lower price expectations. Some may now decide to sell at or near a loss, while others may continue to play an ever more risky waiting game as cargoes literally evaporate before their eyes.
