Chile seems serious about increasing use of gas as a power generation fuel, with local company Octopus recently signing a 20-year deal with Hoegh LNG for a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). It would be the country's third import terminal, and "we expect [it] to substantially increase the reliability and competitiveness of the power generation and natural gas markets in Chile," Octopus General Manager Alfonso Ardizzoni said.
