WE LIKE A good all-rounder at What Car?, and that's probably why we've never run a vehicle like the BMW i3 before. Electric cars are, by definition, more limited creations than their conventionally powered rivals. They lack the overall range and flexibility that comes with a petrol or diesel engine, and the act of refuelling is a more involved process.
