Not quite an 'Ikea', but for 30 years part of the wire sector

Swedish Subec AB is a family owned company registered in Stockholm on April 2nd 1986. And like many innovative businesses, too, the company began in a garage. Founder Uwe Germer started out by using Swedish subcontractors for machining of his new products like guide rollers and wire straighteners. Starting with small parts that have a low risk factor was the only way to get started and slowly accumulate some money for further developments. The idea was to create a one-stop-shop that would provide ready solutions, a kind of - like Mr. Germer says - "Ikea" for the cable+wire industry. The enterprise today is specialized to provide accessories for the industries worldwide making longitudinal products. Subec equips lines for making cables, tubes, hoses, wires, ropes and profiles, aiming at solutions that all production companies and machine producers need to keep up production and to make improvements.
