Clonal selection in the grapes Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio and Gamay in the Aosta Valley.

Clones of these 3 grape cultivars were established in 1982 at Moncenis in the Gran San Bernardo Valley, at an altitude of 750 m, and in 1986 at La Rochere at 600 m. Results are tabulated from analyses of the musts and sensory evaluations of the wines made in 1988-91 at Moncenis and in 1990-93 at La Rochere. The best clones were identified as Pinot Grigio clones 1, 2, 5 and 6, Gamay clone 4 and Pinot Nero clones 1 and 6.
