The application of polypropylene/glass fibre reinforced vinyl-ester resin (PP/GFK) compound designs in the suspension-bearing pipework of flue gas cleaning plant

Suspension-bearing pipework made of polypropylene/glass fibre-reinforced vinyl-ester resin (PP/GFK) in a lignite-fired power station in the Rhine district has been examined for its suitability. As no significant changes could be measured duringthe period of the test, suitability was accepted without restriction. In addition, a cost benefit resulted for pipework of < DN 200 compared with rubber-insulated steel pipes.
