ZF to launch EcoTronic Mid transmission at IAA

Germany/BRICS - ZF Friedrichshafen AG is to launch its new EcoTronic Mid transmission at this year's IAA exhibition in Hanover. EcoTronic is an automated transmission, based on ZF's 9-speed Ecomid manual gearbox for input torques of 900-1,500Nm, which has been developed to meet anticipated demand from medium and light duty markets in the BRIC countries. According to ZF, market studies indicate automated transmissions across all classes by 2025 will account for 70% of sales in Brazil, 50% in China and 25% in both Russia and India.
