Krone acquires Gigant to develop axles for trailers and agricultural machinery

Krone stated that this decision would allow the group to take advantage of the proven expertise in axle manufacturing offered by Gigant Trenkamp & Gehle GmbH. Under the new arrangements, in future, says Krone, Gigant Trenkamp & Gehle GmbH would become a subsidiary company within the Krone group and that its focus would be to develop innovative axle assemblies and chassis for Krone's agricultural machinery, trailers and semi-trailers. In addition, Krone says, the companies intend to create and exploit synergies in the areas of purchase, manufacturing and aftersales services. However, Gigant is to retain an element of independence in order to offer axles to other trailer makers.
