Russian Canter moves to Euro IV compliance

Fuso Kamaz Trucks Rus, which has its headquarters in Kazan and manufacturing base in Naberzhnye Chelny, has announced the emissions upgrade of its trucks starting this year, with the fitment of engines meeting the Euro IV standard. To date Fuso Canter medium trucks of the previous TD generation manufactured in Naberezhnye Chelny have been equipped with in-line four-cylinder, 4.9-litre Mitsubishi Fuso 4M50-7AT7 150hp engines, meeting Euro III standards, but, as of 2013, a more powerful specification meeting Euro IV standards, Mitsubishi Fuso's 4M50-5AT5 engine is to be installed. Whilst the new engine has the same swept volume capacity of 4.9-litre, its maximum output has been increased by 30hp to 180hp. The engine meets Euro IV emission standards using exhaust gas recirculation (ERG) and a diesel particulate system (DPF) filter in the exhaust system. This engine will continue to be matched with a six-stage mechanical gearbox.
