Marcopolo reports steady growth in 2013

Caxais do Sul - The world's biggest body builder, Marcopolo SA of Caxais do Sul announced consolidated net revenue of BLR3.659bn (USD1.592bn) in 2013, an increase of 8.6% compared with BRL3.369bn in 2012. Marcopolo explained that the improved revenue was the result of increased production and sales, especially of its coaches and the Volare minibus range. Sales on the Brazilian home market contributed revenues of BRL2.509bn (USD1,087bn) or the equivalent of 68.6% of total net revenue (68.2% in 2012). Exports added to its overseas business revenue, which totalled BRL1.15bn (USD0.47bn) or 31.4% of the total, compared with BRL1.07bn in 2012; an increase of 7.5%. Marcopolo said that revenue from exports from Brazil benefited from the devaluation of the Real against the US dollar.
