CIHT and Transportation Professional will be at Traffex at the NEC in Birmingham from 29-31 March this year, sharing a stand with the Department for Transport and the Highways Agency. The show comes at a good time, coinciding with a wide range of new efforts and initiatives. So says CIHT President Geoff Allister in his foreword to Transportation Professional's showguide for CIHT members visiting Traffex. Traffex 2011 is being held in an economic environment quite different to that of two years ago, when Traffex was last held, but the list of exhibitors in this showguide suggests suppliers have not been deterred. It should be remembered that a successful Traffex show was held in 2009 as the health of the UK economy was declining. Now it is on an upturn, albeit a slow one and it is accompanied by substantial new challenges, not least for the transportation sector. Make no mistake, we are tasked with improving the safety and efficacy of road networks with greater efficiency and at less cost.
