Iwas part of day charter with Arafura Blue Water Charters out of Darwin and I don't think there was a soul aboard who wasn't thinking about catching a black jewfish that perfect day. It was the reason I was aboard after hearing of some amazing catchesthat of the famous fish in these waters. The Black Jewfish, Johnius diacanthus, (northern mulloway) replaces the southern mulloway in the tropics. It also ranges throughout the Asian Pacific region and is an important commercial species throughout thisarea of the glove.
