Club's top show in Ayrshire

More than 100 tractors managed to dodge the storm clouds in what has become one of the largest classic vehicle events in the west of Scotland. Held in the picturesque grounds of Eglinton Country Park near Irvine, Ayrshire Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club's annual rally is now in its 26th year. The theme of this year's event was to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the renamed Massey Ferguson company, complete with the famous Triple Triangle emblem that had been introduced in 1957. Readers will recall that Massey-Harris had bought Harry Ferguson's tractor business in 1953. The new firm was initially marketed as Massey-Harris-Ferguson but the name was simplified in 1958.
