EPA considers boosting ethanol content in gas

WASHINGTON-The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is evaluating whether to increase the allowable content of ethanol in gasoline to 15 percent from 10 percent.The proposal-based on a March 6 petition to the EPA from Growth Energy, a consortium of ethanol producers and 54 ethanol companies-has auto makers concerned that their vehicles can't physically withstand the higher ethanol content.
