Agriculture didn't take any hits this year. There were a few punches thrown, but nothing landed. As government grows at all levels - state, local and federal - they all show a willingness to get into your business and make more and more decisions foryou. The Louisiana legislature is no exception to that mood. But seasoned leaders in the House and Senate saw to it that you were protected, for the most part, from over-zealous first time legislators' campaign promises to regulate "this" or outlaw "that" and managed to keep everyone focused on the real issues. Once again the real issues were taxes, budget, education and health care. Year after year that never really changes.
