CIR Panel Grapples With Interpreting NTP Retinyl Palmitate Study

At its June 10-11 meeting, the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel examined new data regarding the safety of vitamin A compounds retinol and retinyl palmitate, but agreed the data were not compelling enough to change its previous "safe as used" assessment. For the time being, the panel has opted not to officially reopen a review of the ingredient group.
