摘要

Cosmetic adverse events comprised 30% of all consumer-product injury reports to Australia's Competition and Consumer Commission in the past year, and one official points to inadequate cosmetic product preservation as a culprit. In an Oct. 22 speech at Australasian cosmetic trade association Accord's Cosmetic and Personal Care Conference in Sydney, ACCC Deputy Chair Delia Rick-ard noted that the number of injury reports associated with cosmetics were proportionally large. Under Australian regulations, cosmetic firms or suppliers are required to report adverse events to the commission within 48 hours of receiving notice. ACCC describes itself as "Australia's competition regulator and national consumer law champion."
