The safety of tea tree oil cannot be assessed,according to a recent opinion-from the European Commmission's Scientific Committee on Consumer Products that is bound to displease at least one natural fragrances advocate.In an opinion adopted Dec.16 at its 18th plenary,SCCP states:"Because of inadequate dermal absorption studies available,the magnitude of systemic exposure to tea tree oil from cosmetics products is uncertain."
