Input of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics to drug discovery

We are not yet in the post-genomic era, according to Dr Mark Ross, senior group leader, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, United Kingdom. Since 2001, public effort has been directed towards generating the finished sequence and in this year, which marks the 50th anniver-sary of the humane genome project, it is recognised that the sequence is essentially finished in a highly polished state.
