Deficit Snowballing in Steel Trade with China

Korea's steel trade balance with China, which went into the red at the beginning of this year, is showing an endlessly growing deficit. Aggregate deficit in the nation's steel trade with China, which stood at mere 91 million U.S. dollars in the first quarter of this year, grew to over 200 million U.S. dollars until April and then to 255 million U.S. dollars, marking a surprising year-on-year jump of 185.9 percent, until May, according to the Korea Iron & Steel Association.
