Quarterly Tin Plate Sales in January-March Top 250,000 Tons for First Time

The overall sales performance by 4 major domestic tin plate makers in the first three-month period of the year was tallied to have surged 12.7 percent on a year-on-year basis. The first-quarter tin plate sales registered a double-digit increase both at home and abroad. Domestic sales totaled 107,400 tons, up 11.4 percent from a year ago, and exports also soared 13.8 percent year-on-year to 143,000 tons. In accordance with the prices for tin plates and their base sheets that began to increase at the beginning of February this year, sales of tin plates in the first quarter continued to be on the rise.
