POSCO Constructs High-grade API-certified Steel Pipe Mill in U.S.

POSCO broke ground at the city of Pittsburg in California on February 29 for the construction of a steel mill that will be capable of producing about 270,000 tons of high-grade American Petroleum Institute (API)-certified steel pipes per year. In this connection, POSCO has established a joint venture, United Spiral Pipe, LLC, together with U.S. Steel and SeAH. POSCO and U.S. Steel have a stake of 35 percent each and SeAH has 30 percent. They are scheduled to complete a steel pipe mill by April next year under the budget of 129 million U.S. dollars.
