Mezica is the largest lead and zinc ore deposit in Slovenia. Mined for over 350 years, it is one of the world's richest wulfenite deposits. Most of the major mineralogical collections and museums in the world have at least one specimen from this classic occurrence. And the locality is far from exhausted; many fine specimens have been collected in recent years.
