In this note, we present a proof of the Cosine Rule. This proof which makes use of properties of similar triangles, if not new, is not widely known. As the Cosine Rule can be regarded as a generalisation of the Pythagorean theorem, we start with right-angled triangles and then proceed to acute and obtuse ones. We end this note with a remark on a different proof.
