Oral submucous fibrosis is a chronic inflammatory disease resulting in progressive juxtaepithelial fibrosis of the oral soft tissues that can cause increasing difficulty in mastication, swallowing, speaking, and mouth opening. Surgical and nonsur-gical methods have been used to treat the condition. In severe situations (in-terincisal opening less than or equal to 25 mm), surgical intervention is the only treatment option. Surgical methods reported in the literature include various grafting procedures, such as the split-thickness skin graft, buccal fat pad graft, free forearm flap transfer, and bilateral full thickness naso-labial flaps.
