Testing and training in the operational battlespace

The U.S. Department of Dfense faces a formidable challenge regarding test and evaluation (T&E) and training. The complexity of systems today has necessitated the use of new methodologies, such as spiral development and incremental deploymen4 resulting in the fielding of systems that are at various stages of maturity. It is clear that emerging technology and new system implementations will dictate the need for additional testing and training services directly in the operational battlespace.
