The automotive industry and the environment: strange bedfellows? Perhaps. But if recent events at Toyota Australia are any indication, compatibility rates are rising. In June this year, the company won a coveted Banksia Award for Business Environmental Responsibility and Leadership. It was also a finalist in the Environmental Leadership in Media Communication category. The Banksia Awards are Australia's best-known environmental awards, and recognise the environmental initiatives of individuals, businesses and environment and community groups. This year's winning status follows several years of Toyota Australia reaching' finalist' level in various Award categories.
