摘要

Reverse engineering of geometric shape is the process of converting measured data points into a computer representation. The topic of this paper, recovering rolling ball edge blends, is a subproblem of the geometric model creation. We assume that the nominal model of the object has already been created and want to fit blending surfaces for the data points which "remained" in between the primary surfaces. In our previous work /1/ we compared several algorithms for reconstructing constant radius rolling ball blends. In the present paper we investigate how these algorithms can be generalized for reconstructing variable radius blends.
