Dr. Alan Agins began his Hot Topics lecture in 2010 with a startling statistic: 16% of the United States population suffers from depression but only about 1 in 5 receives complete treatment. This occurs because many patients may not get the right drug (or drug combinations) for the right amount of time or at the right dosages, and many get no additional therapeutic support.
