Bio-tech corn soon available in Ontario

Corn borer problems could soon be a thing of the past for some Ontario corn farmers. Corn breeders have used the tools of biotechnology to produce a new type of corn that will be almost 100% resistant to corn borer feeding. The seed for that new corncould be available in Ontario as soon as this spring. Corn borers attack all kinds of corn, as well as other crops. Most people know them best as that dirty white worm that wants to share a cob of sweet corn with you. Farmers of field corn though, are not as concerned about cob damage, but they are very upset about stalk tunnelling.
