Building better knowledge systems

Recent years have seen major vendors put their weight behind XML, seeing its potential to completely reshape the way corporate information is stored and communicated. XML is also on the lips of many in the knowledge management community, yet few know where to start. At its core, XML is a standard for representing information in a structured and powerful way, produced by the World Wide Web Consortium [W3C], the creators of HTML. With business information in an XML format, it becomes possible to build powerful knowledge systems that deliver concrete benefits.
