Butamax Advanced Biofuel (Wilmington, DE), a joint venture between DuPont and BP, says it filed a patent infringement suit on January 14 against newly public isobutanol producer Gevo (Englewood, CO). The patent in question was issued on December 14, 2010 and covers biocatalysts developed to produce isobutanol and provides protection for Butamax and “its pioneering work in the field,” Butamax says.
