Air Liquide confrms 2014 growth target supported by higher frst-quarter sales

Air Liquide has reported ?3.73 billion ($5.16 billion) in revenue during the frst quarter, up 6.2% year-on-year (YOY) on a compa- rable—growth, excluding currency, natural gas, and signifcant M&A impacts—basis or 1% on a reported basis. The company did not disclose net income or Ebitda fgures. Air Liquide's gas and services activities represented the bulk of the revenue stream, at ?3.42 billion, up 5.7% YOY on a com- parable basis. The European side of the business accounted for the largest slice of revenue at ?1.7 billion. Sales in Europe were almost stable, recording a 0.2% YOY slip on a comparable basis, but across all of the other regions sales grew: 2.9% in the Mideast and Africa, 11.6% in the Americas, and 13.5% in Asia/Pacifc.
