Resource Majors Move to Integrate Coal Business (4)

Vale S.A., Brazil which participated in coal export business in 2007 also has been forced to downscale and integrate this business because the coal export market is remaining in the long-term doldrums. Vale took over coal assets owned by AMCI, USA in Australia on 23 April 2007. Accordingly, Vale has made a blanket acquisition of Integra coal mine, an existing metallurgical coal mine in the State of NSW, Carborough Downs coal mine and Isaac Plains coal mine in the State of QLD, and so on. Semi-hard coking coal and semi-soft coking coal are mainly produced at these coal mines.
