摘要

The authors present a worthy study that should be added to the ever-growing database of urolithiasis. Although isolated to their institution, they addressed the question of "What happens to patients after they leave the emergency department?" Various factors were analyzed. Of the 198 patients meeting the inclusion criteria, one third of them either refused to participate (n = 12) or were unable to be interviewed by telephone (n = 56), and thus were ". . . deemed lost to follow-up." Of the remaining 130 patients, 61% were followed up with a urologist, 23% with a primary care physician, and 7% had no further follow-up.
