Potential use of RNA interference as therapeutic strategy in urologic cancer.

Interest has been increasing during the past decade in the use of genetically mediated therapy to treat neo-plastic conditions. Although a relatively new field of research, it is rapidly expanding and already beginning to yield positive results, with studies demonstrating cancer regression in patients receiving immune cells modified by the insertion of particular genes.As would be expected, the potential targets for gene therapy and the various routes through which this can be achieved are legion.
