Psychology and Psychotherapy

摘要

The start of this year saw Matthias and I take over from Steve Jones as editors of Psychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research, and Practice. We look forward to continuing his sterling work developing the journal, especially as we celebrate the journal's 85th anniversary in the coming year. The journal, formerly known as the British Journal of Medical Psychology has always maintained a strong and passionate commitment to theoretical and conceptual plurality and to the critical discourse of new developments in the field of psychological therapies research and application. In recent years, not only have we observed a widening of approaches and implementation of psychological therapies in different settings, populations, and models of service implementation and access but also a real shift in methodologies and approaches to research. We have observed a move towards more complex and demanding methodologies, both in design and analysis within psychological therapies research that now allows for a closer observation of psychotherapy processes and the interface between service users and providers.
