Travel procurement professionals ready for cost, compliance challenges of 2010

travel spending is down and it appears it's going to stay that way. Seventy-five percent of readers responding to a new Purchasing survey say their companies are spending less with travel suppliers today than they did one year ago, and 59% expect travel spending will not pick up in 2010. Keeping that spending in check is atop the to-do list for travel procurement professionals this year. The survey results show that one in three readers has responsibility for managing travel spending. And, of this figure, 64% say controlling costs related to travel falls squarely on their shoulders.
