THIS time last year we reported on a warning from Greenvale technical director Paul Coleman that potato growers would soon face tighter controls on the use of CIPC. He repeated the message at PCL's Storage 2020 event last month but first he put it into context with a graph showing a 15% decline in fresh sales volume over the past three years, driven, he said, by 'harsh domestic economics and accelerated by the 2012 crop supply situation'.
